Recent acquisitions and growth opportunities within the fitness sector raised several questions surrouding supplier growth.  Jon Field, author for Club Business International's February 2016 publication, recently asked industry experts for their insight.  

Comm-Fit's Chief Commerical Officer, David Risser, perceives acquisitons as a strategy to meet market demand rather than trying to "be all things to all people.  'Some of the larger players in the industry are looking for specific opportunities to fill niches or address current fitness trends,' he observes.  'Today, manufacturers continue to lose business to category specialties, reducing their chance to be total fitness equipment resources.  As a result, they'll continue to try to fill category voids in an effort to maintain their competitve advantage.'"
